美國俄勒岡Willamette Valley Underwood罐裝黑皮諾(375毫升),風格簡單清晰,充滿紅莓、櫻桃和士多啤梨味道,酸度適中,複雜欠奉,但勝在清香且容易入口;稍稍將之冰鎮應更可口,在美國賣24美元四罐,不知道香港消費者會否捧場?

使用鋁罐包裝葡萄酒並非新鮮事,但相對玻璃瓶還是算小數,尤其香港以致亞洲市場,顧客還是喜歡玻璃瓶裝酒,認為格調較高,甚至認為質素較好。我覺得供早日飲用的酒類,使用鋁罐包裝概念不俗,方便攜帶又不易打破。唯一我憂慮的是鋁罐內層防止金屬滲透的BPA薄膜會否隨時間受破壞(或溶解?!),導致葡萄酒直接接觸到鋁質(或BPA本身是否會釋出有害物質)。

“Underwood Oregon Willamette Valley Pinot Noir” in a 375ml can, how does that sound?  Not a wine with complexity but is highly approachable, fragrant with fresh cherries, raspberries and strawberries characters. US$24 for 4 cans, not bad indeed, esp. for Oregon Pinot Noirs.

Canned wine is nothing new but still atypical, especially in the HKG / Asian market. Winery emphasises that they “believe that the contents are more important than the container…” Aluminum can is convenient & sturdy, I think it is fine to can-pack wines for early consumption. I just wonder whether the metal flavours would eventually leak through the BPA liner hence a metal (or even the BPA itself!) contamination after a certain period of shelf time.
